“Tarot cards provide doorways
– Carl Jung –
to the unconscious”
Psychotarotpy™ is the interpretation of a tarot card spread through the lens of psychotherapy in session with a client.
Contrary to the old belief that tarot cards tell the future, the reality is that they serve as an oracle for spiritual guidance and inner wisdom, helping individuals connect with their subconscious and ‘Higher Self’. The cards may reveal what might happen in the future – if everything involved stays on its present course. However, the future is not set in stone. We have the ability to change what may happen in our outside world if we make changes to our inner state of being. Tarot readings allow us to gain an understanding of a situation or challenge we are dealing with by providing insight into our past and what is influencing our present state.
In a psychotherapy session, tarot cards are useful as a tool for self-insight, illuminating a client’s strengths, blocks, beliefs and values. As we go through the tarot spread, the client begins to see their ‘story’ through the universal images and symbols within the cards. During the psychotherapeutic process, the client is inspired to discuss their thoughts, feelings and emotions in a way that feels safe, thus allowing them to move more consciously into a future of their choice by identifying what changes they need to make to better align with their True Self.
