Spiritual Psychotherapy
The human experience of the mind involves what we think (our thoughts), what we feel (our feelings), and how we respond to those feelings (our emotions). Sometimes, this can lead to anxiety, depression, and fear as well as the notion that “there has to be more to life than this.”
Psychotherapy, also known as ‘talk therapy’, explores the conscious and unconscious mind. It provides a safe space for an individual to voice their thoughts, uncover their feelings and express their emotions without fear of judgment, criticism or consequences. The therapeutic relationship between therapist and client is one of partnership, confidentiality, and respect.
Spiritual Psychotherapy integrates traditional psychotherapeutic practices that address the human experience of the mind with holistic practices to address the needs of the body and soul. Rather than fixing what is on the outside to feel good inside, spiritual psychotherapy stems from the inside out, so that no matter what is going on in our world, we remain centred and balanced.
As a Registered Psychotherapist, I partner with my clients to identify their core beliefs about themselves and the world. Through modalities such as working with the inner child, guided imagery, focusing, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, the client can become aware of and accept those ego-defenses or sub-personalities that no longer serve them and take the action required to transform back into their true self.
